Power towers can generally be divided into five types according to their shapes: glass cup type, cat head type, top type, dry type, and bucket type. They can be classified according to their uses: tension tower, straight tower, corner tower, transposition tower (tower for replacing the phase position of the conductor), terminal tower, and crossing tower. Their structural characteristics are that all tower types belong to spatial truss structures, and the members are mainly composed of single equilateral angle steel or composite angle steel. The materials generally used are Q235 (A3F) and Q345 (16Mn). The connection between the members is made of rough bolts, which are connected by shear force through bolts. The entire tower is composed of angle steel, connecting steel plates, and bolts. Some components such as the tower foot are welded into a composite component from several steel plates. Therefore, hot-dip galvanizing is extremely convenient for anti-corrosion, transportation, and construction installation. For iron towers with a height of less than 60m, foot nails should be installed on one of the main materials of the tower to facilitate construction workers to climb and work on the tower.
